FCA Certified Collision Care

Five very different brands, one certification — here is why that is hard

FCA certification is based on the OEM-specified requirements needed to properly repair current-model vehicles, verified through a business capability assessment and an on-site inspection audit. The required training runs through I-CAR and includes FCA’s driver assistance systems course, the FCA Service Library course, and wiTECH — FCA’s factory diagnostic and programming platform — for Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram, Alfa Romeo, and Fiat.

The wiTECH requirement is the piece most shops cannot match. FCA vehicles need module programming and calibration through the factory tool, not a generic aftermarket scanner. Replace a front bumper on a Grand Cherokee and the forward-facing radar needs wiTECH-driven calibration. Replace an ABS module on a Ram and it needs factory programming to the VIN. Without wiTECH access, a shop finishes the bodywork and then sends your vehicle to the dealer for a week.

The material range is the other challenge. An Alfa Romeo Giulia and Stelvio use aluminum-intensive structures with carbon-fiber driveshafts and, on Quadrifoglio trims, carbon body panels — joined with structural adhesive and rivets rather than welds. A Ram 2500 is boxed high-strength steel that gets pulled on a frame rack. A Wrangler is a body-on-frame vehicle with removable doors and a removable top where panel gaps have to be set with the hardware both on and off. Same certification, three completely different repair disciplines. We are set up for all three.

All five nameplates

FCA models we repair

Alfa Romeo Giulia, Stelvio & Tonale

Aluminum-intensive structures, rivet-bonded and adhesive-joined rather than welded. Front-end and quarter panel work requires the correct rivet type and adhesive cure schedule. Alfa Rosso paint is a three-stage — blending it correctly is its own skill.

Jeep Wrangler & Gladiator

Off-road damage is the norm: fender flares, rockers, skid plates, aluminum hoods and doors. Removable-top and removable-door hardware means we set panel gaps and reseal in both configurations before delivery.

Jeep Grand Cherokee, Cherokee, Compass & Wagoneer

The volume side of Jeep. Front-end collisions with forward radar recalibration through wiTECH, liftgate and quarter panel replacement, and on Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer, aluminum closures and a heavy sensor load.

Ram 1500, 2500 & 3500

Boxed high-strength steel frames straightened on the rack to FCA measurement points. Aluminum hood and tailgate on 1500. Bedside replacement, RamBox damage, and rear camera calibration are routine here.

Dodge Charger, Challenger, Durango & Hornet

Muscle-car repairs come with paint challenges — the heritage colors are three-stage or special-effect finishes that must be blended into adjacent panels, never butt-matched. Durango gets full ADAS recalibration after front-clip work.

Chrysler Pacifica & 300

Pacifica sliding-door and power-liftgate damage is one of our steadiest FCA repairs. Track replacement, obstruction-sensor recalibration, and on the Pacifica Hybrid, high-voltage safe procedures before any structural work.

What we see every week

Most common FCA collision repairs

Rivet-bonded aluminum structural repair

Alfa Romeo and the aluminum closures on Ram and Wagoneer are joined with self-piercing rivets and structural adhesive rather than spot welds. Rivet type, diameter, spacing, and adhesive cure time are specified per joint. Get the rivet wrong and the joint fails at a fraction of the designed load. We stock the specified rivets and use the correct gun, per the FCA Service Library procedure.

Wrangler and Gladiator off-road body damage

Trail damage to rockers, flares, and skid plates plus the aluminum hood and doors. Because Wrangler doors and top come off, we verify water sealing and panel alignment in the closed configuration after reassembly. Wind noise and leaks after a Wrangler repair are almost always a reassembly problem, not a parts problem.

Pacifica sliding door and track repair

Side impacts and parking hits bend the lower track and warp the door skin. We replace the track, replace or repair the door, and recalibrate the pinch and obstruction sensors so the power door stops when it should. This is also a door replacement job we do constantly.

wiTECH module programming and ADAS calibration

Any FCA repair that touches a radar, camera, ABS module, occupant restraint controller, or body control module ends with wiTECH programming and calibration to the VIN. We do it in-house at the end of the repair, so the vehicle leaves with every module talking and no pending faults.

Insurance handling

Adhesive, rivets, and wiTECH time are the contested line items

On FCA claims the fights are predictable. Structural adhesive is expensive and photo-estimating software often omits it. Rivet quantity gets undercounted. And wiTECH programming time gets deleted entirely because the adjuster’s database has no line for it. All three are documented FCA requirements, and all three go back on via supplement with the procedure attached.

We are an Allstate Direct Repair Program partner and we bill directly to Geico, State Farm, Progressive, Farmers, Mercury, AAA, Liberty Mutual, Nationwide, and USAA. California Insurance Code §758.5 protects your right to choose this shop regardless of what network your carrier prefers.

Alfa Romeo owners specifically: the parts pipeline is thinner than for domestic brands and lead times on aluminum structural panels can run weeks. We order early, tell you the honest date rather than an optimistic one, and keep the rental authorization extended with the carrier while we wait.

Alfa Romeo & FCA repair FAQ

Questions Alfa, Jeep, Ram and Dodge owners ask us

Which brands does FCA certification cover?

Five: Alfa Romeo, Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, and Ram. The certification is issued against FCA’s OEM-specified repair requirements and verified through a business capability assessment plus an on-site audit. Required training includes FCA’s driver assistance systems course, the FCA Service Library course, and wiTECH factory diagnostics training.

What is wiTECH and why does it matter for a body repair?

wiTECH is FCA’s factory diagnostic and module-programming platform. On modern Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram, and Alfa Romeo vehicles, replacing a radar, camera, restraint controller, or body control module requires programming and calibration to your specific VIN through wiTECH — a generic aftermarket scan tool cannot do it. Shops without wiTECH finish the bodywork and then send you to the dealer. We finish it here.

Why can’t you weld my Alfa Romeo Giulia’s damaged structure?

Because it largely is not welded from the factory. The Giulia and Stelvio use aluminum-intensive structures joined with self-piercing rivets and structural adhesive. Welding an aluminum structural joint that was designed to be riveted and bonded changes how load travels through the car and how it behaves in the next collision. We follow the published FCA joining method for each specific joint.

How much does a Jeep Wrangler fender flare and rocker repair cost?

Cosmetic flare replacement with OEM parts and refinish typically runs $700 to $1,400 per side in 2026. Add rocker panel damage and structural body-mount inspection and it climbs to $2,500 to $4,000. Aftermarket armor already on the vehicle changes the math either direction, so bring it in and we will write it off the actual truck.

Can you match Dodge’s high-impact paint colors?

Yes, and this is where a lot of shops fall short. Colors like Go Mango, Plum Crazy, and the various three-stage reds are not single-coat finishes — they are multi-layer systems where the mid-coat thickness controls the final color. They must be blended into adjacent panels rather than butt-matched at a panel edge. We spray test cards, verify under multiple light sources, and blend. See our paint cost page.

My Pacifica’s power sliding door won’t close all the way after a parking lot hit. Fixable?

Usually, yes, and usually more cheaply than you expect. In most cases the lower track is tweaked and the door itself is straight, which means track replacement, hinge and roller service, and recalibration of the pinch sensor so the door stops on obstruction instead of forcing. If the door skin or inner structure is bent, replacement is the right call. We can tell you which in a 15-minute look.
